It was bound to happen. Saturday, the last of the holidays. We already planned not to meet on Friday because I had a busy day. She did the thing where she calls during the day and asks if she can come over anyway. I said I basically wouldn’t be home anyway. That was fine.

Then Saturday, also a busy day for me, but she was going to come over after squash. I didn’t reply to her for a couple of hours between Pickleball, committee meeting, then practice. She mentioned “3-4 hours later”, and gave short answers (ok, ok, it’s fine). Then posted on her story a meme “First rule – never expect anything from anyone”.

…but I didn’t really do anything wrong. I told her I was busy during the day, gave her the itinerary. Maybe in her world 2.5 hours without a reply is a big shun. In my world though I havec things on, and that’s a reasonable span.

Maybe I need to spell that out more, so she doesn’t feel upset. Still I think it’s immature of her to sulk like that.

Almost a necessary phase though, because I really wasn’t enjoying her clinginess.
